International Infotech Park & Vashi Station

Due to the rains, most of the harbor line and central railway line were running late, and passengers were stranded on many stations. Outside Vashi station (which is housed in the International Infotech Park building), there wasn't much chaos because by evening, it stopped raining.

Sanpada Flyover

The construction work of Sanpada flyover was completed  and the flyover was opened for traffic last month. It has not yet been inaugurated. The flyover has changed the face of Sanpada. Till now, Sanpada was accessible through two subways, one subway near Sanpada station and the other near Turbhe Naka.

This flyover from Sanpada (East) goes on to connect the Palm Beach Road on the other side, thus improving the connectivity of Sanpada node with the rest of Navi Mumbai

Methi Pulao

Pulao is flavoured rice and very popular Indian food. Methi pulao is Fenugreek leaves flavoured rice. This is one of my favourite pulaos, very simple & quick to make. Those who run away from green leafy vegetables will also love this pulao.

Potholes - how deep?

No driver could easily escape these potholes (right in the middle of the road) outside Millennium Towers in Sanpada. How deep do you think these potholes are? Are there potholes in your city? Are the authorities as careless?

Potholes

Monsoon has long arrived in Mumbai, but I didn't post any pic so far. This is the first one, the potholes near my home, right in front of the little vegetable corner shop. Many roads in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are in the same condition, and a nightmare for drivers.

My Little Corner Shop

This pic was also a good choice for the July Monthly Theme 'My Little Corner Shop'. This is a vegetable shop across the road outside our main gate. I know this 'Uncle' very well as I am his regular customer. He stocks fresh vegetables everyday morning and they are all sold out by evening.

I have to go a little further down the road to the market for buying fruits.

Cool Deal

Yes, Krrish was splashing rain water and jumping around too, with no one to scold him. It was a deal between us. He loves splashing in rain water. So, the deal was that he would not splash water around while walking to school, so his uniform, shoes and socks are clean. In return, I would take him out on every rainy afternoon after school and lunch, to have fun, followed by a hot water Dettol bath and afternoon nap of two hours.

Rain Rain Go Away

My li'l preschooler waited all day for the rain to stop, so that I would allow him to stroll outside. Here he is, having fun in rain water. He is learning the nursery rhyme 'Rain Rain Go Away' at school and waits for the rain to stop, and comes running to me with the hot news.

July Monthly Theme: 'NO ....' SIGN

The July theme day is to post a picture of a sign in your town that includes the text "NO"

Two such signs are put up outside Ryan International School in Sanpada.
The montessori, primary and secondary sections have different timings betweeen 7.30 am to 4 pm, and the school buses are seen plying to and fro, bringing kids and transporting them back home.
Also, there is a crowd of parents bringing kids to school and then take their kids home.
Parking here results in traffic jams.
